Support Service

Protect your family
and your assets.

The DIFC Wills Service allows non-Muslims to determine how their UAE assets are distributed, in English and under a common law framework. All seven emirates are covered.

Without a will, the distribution of UAE assets is determined by the local rules that apply. A DIFC will lets non-Muslims settle that outcome according to their own wishes.

Assets that can be covered include real estate, cash, personal possessions, company shares, and bank and brokerage accounts.

Types of will

01

Full will

Covers both the distribution of assets and the appointment of guardians for children. The broadest option.

02

Financial assets will

For money, shares or securities held with a UAE bank or financial institution. Up to 10 accounts held solely or jointly can be included.

03

Guardianship will

Deals only with appointing guardians for your children; it does not cover asset distribution.

04

Property will

For real estate you own in the UAE. You can appoint beneficiaries for up to five properties or shares in them.

05

Business owners will

Transfers your shares without going through probate. Beneficiaries can be appointed for up to five separate shareholdings in a free zone or onshore company.

Registry fees are not included.

All fees are inclusive of 5% VAT.

Prices are indicative. Official fees and free zone tariffs change during the year; the exact figure is confirmed in writing in your quote.

What is a mirror will?

Two separate wills that mirror each other: each spouse leaves their assets to the other, and on the death of both, to named beneficiaries. It is the structure couples with children most often choose.

Who it suits

  • Non-Muslim expatriates who own property in the UAE
  • Anyone holding shares in a UAE company
  • Families with young children in the UAE
  • Anyone with assets in several countries wanting the UAE side settled

Scope note

DIFC wills are for non-Muslims. The process is carried out with a law firm authorised before the DIFC; we take on the coordination and the registry work.

Which will suits you?
